Macro Monday | Valleyview Alberta Photographer

It’s week 22 of my macro project 52.  The theme this week is “Make a Mark.”  The subject can be anything that leaves a mark or impression of some kind – a fingerprint, footprint, stamp, etc.

I chose to photograph a beautiful piece of art…  finger-painting by my in-house artist:) The finger swirls in the paint leave such interesting “marks”!

Fifty-Two on Friday | Valleyview Alberta Photographer

It’s week 20 of our Fifty-Two on Friday project.  This week our theme is landscapes and it was landscapes that originally sparked my love of photography.  I have always had a huge affection for nature.  Being outside, hiking, and most of all, capturing the beautiful outdoors with my camera.

My favourite place to be and to photograph is the Rocky Mountains in Canada.  I can’t described how much I love being surrounded by towering mountains and trees.  My first post as a Forest Ranger was in the foothills of the Rockies.  I loved living in a place where I could enjoy those beautiful views every single day.

I no longer live in the foothills, but I love to travel to the Rockies whenever I can.  And, I just got back from my first camping trip of the year…  and you guessed it, I went to my favourite place:)

Next, travel with me to visit the amazing Meghan Boyer, Maryland Lifestyle Photographer and see her interpretation of this week’s theme.

So very pretty, great contrast!

Wow! I do love my Texas landscapes, but I sure get jealous when I see something like this! Stunning!

I love the mountains too…. everytime we travel west I am still in awe when I see them.

Fantastic, Jenn! And the Rockies are so much “rockier” up your way…very cool to see!

Thankful Thursday | Valleyview Alberta Photographer

It’s week 36 of my 365 days of gratitude project.  Here are the things that I am thankful for this week:

Day 246 – I am thankful for my raincoat and rain pants.  Just what I need on rainy days.

Day 247 – I am thankful for campgrounds with great facilities.  It doesn’t get any better than this.

Day 248 – I am thankful for maps of all kinds.  I love knowing where we are going and what places we will see along the way.  I use a GPS, but nothing beats a well-loved paper map.

Day 249 – I am thankful to arrive home and be greeted with gorgeous green leaves on the trees.

Day 250 – I am thankful for peonies that are beginning to bloom.

Day 251 – I am thankful to see the currant bushes full of new growth.

Day 252 – I am thankful for this stuff.  The mosquitos have been swarming me and this helps keep them away.

My World, Your World | Valleyview Alberta Photographer

It’s month five of our “My World, Your World” project.  This month, our theme is “Reflection.”  There are so many ways you could interpret this theme, but I chose to capture a physical reflection.  This beautiful creek flows nearby and I love that I can always hear it’s sound.
