Fifty-Two on Friday | Valleyview Alberta Photographer

It’s week 16 of our Fifty-Two on Friday project – a project that features the work of photographers from around the world.  This week our theme is movement.  We had a couple of rainy days this week, so decided to have a bit of fun with my camera and do something a bit abstract…  panning.

You can do panning a few different ways.  One way is to keep up with your subject in a motion filled scene – moving your camera with them as they move.  Another way to do it is to slow down your shutter and paint your scene…  using your camera as your paintbrush…  like this:

oh, i love it!! great technique!

this is really cool, Jenn. I’m trying to figure out what it is?! Ha! It looks like there are some tall white birch trees in there? It’s very soft and I love the pastels. Fun to look at.

cool technique.

Oh wow, great job I love this!

That is really cool! I can’t wait to try it! Very creative interpretation!

So pretty! And it would make a great texture overlay, too.

Very pretty tones – great idea, Jenn.

Thankful Thursday | Valleyview Alberta Photographer

This is week 32 of my 365 days of gratitude project and it’s the first time that I have converted all the images for a week into black and white.  Here are the things that I am thankful for this week:

Day 218 – I am thankful for movies…  we’ve been watching more lately because our satellite is broken.  That’s not a bad thing though:)

Day 219 – I am thankful for a fun filled Easter egg hunt!

Day 220 – I am thankful to be here and to have a beautiful life.

Day 221 – I am thankful for sunny days where sunglasses are required…  too bad these heart shaped sunglasses don’t come in my size;)

Day 222 – I am thankful for organization.  It helps so much when I am prepping for sessions.

Day 223 – I am thankful for soft texture.

Day 224 – I am thankful for fast shipping…  and being able to source items close to home.

Fifty-Two on Friday | Valleyview Alberta Photographer

Happy Friday!!!  It’s week 15 of our Fifty-Two on Friday project.  This week our theme is “paper.”

I have been thinking about this theme for a while and thinking of different subjects I could shoot.  Then I remembered an origami kit that I have.  It’s moved with us at least three times (maybe even more) and was, until a couple of days ago, sitting in a moving box in our garage.  I love creative and crafty projects and I had wanted to learn how to do origami.  So, I finally attempted my first origami pieces this week!

I tried to make a bunch of different birds and the cranes were my favourite.  My origami skills aren’t perfect, but I’m so glad I took the time to try origami.

Here’s one of my creations…  flying about in some hazy springtime light:)
